Stephan Schwan is professor for research on teaching and learning and head of the department “Knowledge acquisition with cybermedia” at the Knowledge Media Research Center in Tuebingen. Stephan has received a PhD in psychology from the University of Tuebingen in 1992 and completed his habilitation in 2000. His main areas of research include perceptual and cognitive processing of audiovisual media, informal learning settings and knowledge acquisition with virtual and augmented realities. Together with Carmen Zahn Stephan is the project leader of the third-party funded research project "Learning in museums: the role of media for the recontextualisation of objects".
