Dr. Milekic (Ph.D. in Psychology, University of Connecticut, MD degree, Belgrade University School of Medicine) is co-founder of the "Innovative Instruction Laboratory" at Hampshire College. He conceived and conceptualized KiddyFace, a computer-supported environment which enables young children to manipulate digitally presented information through the use of touch-sensitive screen. For his investigation of motion- and gesture-based modes of interaction with computer he has received funding from the Lemelson National Program in Innovation, Invention and Creativity. His interface proposal demonstration of "Interactive learning environments in art education" has received positive feedback from education departments of several major art institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Minneapolis Museum of Art and the New Museum of Contemporary Art (NYC). Slavoljub Milekic is currently engaged in writing and production of one of the first college-level interactive CD ROM's for the MIT Press ("The Theory of Language", to be published in 1997).
