Description

This workshop explores the uses of multimedia tools in museum settings, from developing on-line exhibits to exploring artifacts in their original context (through Virtual Reality). It takes a look at the latest application including JAVA and JavaScript, VRML (browsers and development applications) and other streaming and broadcast technologies such as those offered by Real Audio and Backweb. The workshop provides a discussion about the infrastructure required to create and maintain these applications and environments.
