Geri GayAssociate Professor, CommunicationCornell University Human-Computer Interaction Group 209 Kennedy Hall Ithaca NY 14853 USA Email: geri.gay@cornell.edu Geri Gay is director of the Human-Computer Interaction Group (HCIG) and an associate professor of communication at Cornell University. HCIG is a research and development laboratory that designs and reseaches the use of computer-mediated learning environments. Professor Gay's research interests focus on cognitive and social issues for the design of interactive communication technologies. Past research has explored navigation issues, mental models and metaphors, knowledge representations, and system design. Professor Gay has received funding for her research and design projects from NSF, the Mellon Foundation, GE, IBM, Getty, Apple, SUN and several private donors. She teaches courses in interactive multimedia design and research, user-interface design, and the social design of communication systems.
