Donald Sanders is President of Learning Sites, Inc., a company producing digital reconstructions of archaeological sites for interactive use in museums, education, and scholarly research. He has a professional degree in architecture, a doctorate in archaeology, and ten years experience in information science. He has archaeological fieldwork experience in Greece, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. In addition to his publications of the excavation of Nemrud Dagi (the hierothesion of Antiochus I of Commagene), his publications have covered such topics as the historiography of the study of architecture by historians and archaeologists, the application of alternative approaches (including those from semiotics and environment-behavior studies) to the study of ancient architecture, and the use of virtual reality for the analysis and dissemination of archaelogical information.
