In 1997, Kati Geber left Bucharest, Romania, and started a new job with the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN). Her work at Artexpo and Heritage Information Center (CIMEC) in Romania, focused on three main areas: development of information interchange procedures, data modeling and standards and access to and integration of resources in a distributed, multicultural environment. At CHIN, Kati Geber designs and evaluates web-based applications. She conducts research on current and emerging trends for human-computer interaction in a distributed environment. The main focus of the research is how the evolution of complexity, of knowledge and integration of knowledge from different heritage disciplines, evolve towards a new world view. Kati Geber participated in the analysis and development of architecture and interface design for Artefacts Canada (1998) and The Great Canadian Guide (1999).

Kati presented 'Guiding' the World to Canada's Museums: the yellow brick road or the straight and narrow?
