Professor Jacobson has MSc and PhD degrees of the University of London. He is currently Professor of Imaging Science, School of Communication, Design & Media, University of Westminster where he has been teaching and carrying out research on various aspects of Imaging Science for more than 25 years. He is Director of the University's Imaging Technology Research Group. His current research interests include physical and psychophysical techniques as a means of quantifying and modelling image quality. This includes the reproduction of colour and other non-colour attributes of image quality; the optimization of image capture conditions in applications of imaging systems, which include archival aspects and the digitisation of photographic collections. He is the author and/or co-author of 10 books and more than 60 research papers in the imaging field. He is currently secretary of the Science Committee and treasurer of the Imaging Science Group of The Royal Photographic Society and Chief Editor of the Society's Imaging Science Journal.
