Isabelle Rieusset-Lemarié

Last book (La société des clones à l'ère de la reproduction multimédia, Ed. Actes Sud, 1999, 487 p.) develops extensions of Walter Benjamin's insights applied to multimedia reproduction and the challenge of memory in the age of multimedia reproduction. Previously I published "Du musée imaginaire aux musées virtuels: l'oeuvre d'art à l'époque de sa reproduction métamorphique" in the collective book Arts et multimédia L'oeuvre d'art et sa reproduction à l'ère des médias interactifs, Publications de la Sorbonne, 1999. I have also studied Paul Otlet's project of a worldwide Museum in "P. Otlet's Mundaneum and the International Perspective in the History of Documentation and Information Science", in Historical Studies in Information Science, Edited by Trudi Bellardo Hahn and Michael Buckland, ASIS (American Society for Information Science)Medford, NJ, 1998.

Isabelle will present Web Museums and Memory in the Age of Digital Multimedia Networks (Extensions of Walter Benjamin's Insights)
