Star Wars: The Magic of Myth
Original artwork, costumes, models, props, conceptual renderings
and other production artwork used to create George Lucas's celebrated
Star Wars movie saga are presented in this rare exhibition of treasures
from the archives of Lucasfilm Ltd. Star Wars: The Magic of Myth
reveals the connections between selected objects in the Institute's
permanent collection and the actual artifacts used in creating the
award-winning Star Wars films. Both the films and the artworks draw
on ancient myths and legends to tell their thrilling stories.
This exhibition was developed by the Smithsonian's
National Air and Space Museum and organized for travel by the Smithsonian
Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. The Minneapolis exhibition
is sponsored by Target Corporation and USBank. All of the artifacts
in the exhibition are on loan from the archives of Lucasfilm Ltd.
