Margaret F. Farr is Assistant Director for Teacher Programs in the Department of Museum Education at The Art Institute of Chicago. Her current responsibilities include developing and implementing courses and workshops for teachers, editing and production of educational materials in a variety of media, and designing in-services for teachers. She also oversees the Teacher Advisory Panel and the operation of the Elizabeth Stone Robson Teacher Resource Center.

Dr. Farr received her M.A. and Ph.D. in art history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, writing her dissertation on the topic of Impressionist Portraits: A Study in Context and Meaning. She came to the Art Institute after serving as Assistant Director of Education at the

Museum of Contemporary Art, where she oversaw teacher programs, docent training, label writing, and audio tour production. Prior to that, she was an assistant professor in art history at the University of Scranton.
