Marcia Lei Zeng
MARCIA LEI ZENG is Associate Professor at Kent State University. She has an M.A. from Wuhan University, China, and a Ph.D. from University of Pittsburgh (1992). Her major research interests include knowledge organization and representation, multilingual information processing and retrieval, indexing and abstracting, and database quality control. Currently she serves as a member of IFLA Section Classification and Indexing Standing Committee and Chair of SLA Committee on Cataloging. Her scholarly publications include over 50 papers and two books as well as many international conference presentations. She has received several research grants and research awards since she joined KSU in 1992. During 1998-1999, she conducted a research on metadata for describing non-document-like objects, with the funding from the OCLC. Her report based on this project was published by the Journal of the American Society for Information Science in 1999.
