Learning@Whitney: A resource for teachers, kids, and teens

Dina Helal, Whitney Museum of American Art, USA
http://www.whitney.org/learning

For the past three years, Dina Helal has overseen the planning, development, and production of Learning@Whitney, the Whitney's new educational website for teachers, teens, kids, families, and interested visitors. Learning@Whitney offers a framework to explore key works in the Whitney's collection of twentieth- and twenty-first-century American art, and multiple ways to use these works as primary resources for teaching and learning.

Site visitors can view an online gallery of artworks from the Whitney's collection or go to Collect Art, where they can create their own collections of Whitney images, add text and sound, and then share their collections with teachers, students, family, or friends. Other interactive features include a timeline from 1900 to the present, and a research section with teaching materials, bibliography, and web links.
