Peter Reynolds, National Theatre, United Kingdom
http://www.stagework.org.uk

Stagework (www.stagework.org.uk) is the National Theatre of England's performance-focused double BAFTA award-winning website. This free archive resource contains interviews with actors, directors and designers as well as detailed accounts of rehearsals and filmed extracts from final performances at the Bristol Old Vic, Birmingham Rep, West Yorkshire Playhouse, and the National. The site also offers career advice and opportunities to learn about the many supporting roles back stage and front of house that are the platform on which creativity stands.

One of Stagework's aims is to help teachers and young people enjoy and benefit from the wide range of teaching and learning materials created for the site including, for example, inter-active tools and games that explore Shakespeare's dramturgy and language.

Stagework features many individuals whose work makes performance happen, from the 'flyman'at a theatre in Bristol who explains the mysteries of his craft, to well known actors like Ian Mckellen, talking about Shakespeare, and dramatists like David Hare, talking about adapting Brecht.
