An on-line recommender system based on Semantic Web technology

The research team of Eindhoven University of Technology and Telematica Institute in collaboration with the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam present an on-line recommender system based on Semantic Web technology. It advices users on categories and topics of interest, based on their judgment, indicating like or dislike, of artefacts from the collection of the museum. We performed a user study which indicated that this interactive recommender helps novice users to find their way in the museum collection and select categories and topics of interest from the otherwise confusing museum catalogue classification.
