Jeff Gates is both a storyteller and a synthesizer. Interested in the social intersection of art and technology he is the Lead Producer in the New Media Initiatives department of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Managing Editor of its blog Eye Level. Museum projects he has been involved with have won numerous accolades including both gold and silver medal MUSE awards from the Association of American Museums, Best Educational Web Site from Museums and the Web, Site of the Day from USAToday, and Pick of the Day from Yahoo. He received his B.A. in International Relations from Michigan State University and his Master of Fine Arts Degree from UCLA in graphic design.
