After receiving her bachelor degree in information science, Jenny Berthling joined the Customs Authority and worked primarily with data analysis in the investigation of economic frauds. After a few years in the field, Jenny went on to the business world and worked as an IT development consultant at one of the leading consulting firms in Sweden. During the following years at the practice, Jenny was engaged in various development projects within the bank and telecom business both as project manager and as developer. After the turn of millennium, Jenny took on the challenging role of the national IT manager for one of the leading global consulting firms in Sweden. It was during these years as IT manager with a more global perspective that Jenny learned the importance of adding and delivering more value to the business and making IT an integrated part of it. She pursued also her master degree studies with main focus on IT management during the same period.

Having a constantly growing interest in history and cultural heritage during her leisure time, she found her way to the National Historical Museums in Sweden (SHMM) about two years ago and has general responsibility for IT operation at the agency.

The ongoing web project is one of the first challenges that Jenny was confronted with at the agency. She initiated and was responsible for carrying out the entire web project together with project manager Anna Engquist.

Jenny will present Transcending the Boundaries of the Museum! Managing Organisational Change in the Museum and on the Web. [Paper]
