Scott Minneman has long been engaged in/with the practice of

interdisciplinary design. This manifests itself in his own background of architectural and engineering design (BA, BS, and MS from MIT; PhD from Stanford), embedded systems, interactive video, installation art, and rock climbing, as well as research on technologies for group design work. Scott worked on robotics for the physically challenged and communication aids for deaf and non-vocal individuals. As a scientist-collaborator in the Xerox PARC Artist-In-Residence (PAIR) program, Scott did installations at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, The Friends of Photography, JumboTrons on club's facade on Sunset Boulevard, at SIGGRAPH, and in single-wide trailer in Goleta, CA.

Scott will present Science Mobilized: Bringing Up-To-The-Minute Headlines Into The Museum and Back Out Again: The Times Square of Science and Technology. [Paper]
