CyberMuse is the National Gallery of Canada’s Education and Research website, targeted to five specific audiences. CyberMuse was initially launched in May 1999 with the objective to provide on-line access to the gallery’s collection of drawings, paintings, sculptures, media art, and photography. In the past ten years, CyberMuse has opened new forms of access to the artworks by which the experience of art becomes diversified and interactive. CyberMuse significantly expanded the Gallery’s online capabilities with new content and programs specifically designed for children, teens, teachers, researchers and life-long learners. It includes user-friendly interactive learning tools, as well as practical teaching resources for schools. CyberMuse has an average of 4 million hits and more than 125,000 user sessions per month.
