An Overview of MW2008

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

MW2008 begins with pre-conference tours. Take this chance to see behind-the scenes at local cultural institutions.

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Pre-Conference Workshops take place on Wednesday. Full and half day sessions offered by experts in the development and application of museum computing and Web technologies provide a chance to learn new skills. All workshop registrants are invited for lunch. Join your new MW2008 friends at the Welcome Reception on Wednesday night.

Thursday, April 10, 2008

MW2008 opens with a Plenary Session on Thursday. The day continues with concurrent theme-based conference sessions. Thursday closes with the Exhibitors' Reception and the opening of the Exhibit Hall.

Friday, April 11, 2008

The middle day of the MW2008 conference offers something for everyone. The Exhibit Hall is open all day, offering a chance to review technologies and services that will help you build your museum's Web presence. Following a Birds of a Feather Breakfast, Mini-workshops, Professional Forums throughout the day address focused topics. The Crit Room offers live critique of museum Web design, and the Usability Lab illustrates methods of evaluating your Web site from a user's perspective, quickly and efficiently. Friday closes with the Conference Reception.

Saturday, April 12, 2008

The final day of MW2008 begins with Demonstrations of Web sites by museum professionals. Two Demonstration sessions, one right after the other, provide a great chance to see museum Web sites up close and ask questions about their goals, objectives and methods. Concurrent sessions on a theme follow. MW2008 wraps with a Closing Plenary.

See Key Dates for deadlines prior to the conference.
