David Prior has worked at the Parliamentary Archives in London since 1992 where he is an Assistant Clerk of the Parliamentary Archives. His responsibilities cover public services, outreach and collection care. Specific duties include the development of a learning and access strategy which in the last three years has involved the development of Web sites on the subjects of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 and the British Parliament’s relationship with the Slave Trade. David has also led projects which have delivered exhibitions on the Gunpowder Plot and the union of the Scottish and English Parliaments in 1707. His research interests are British imperial and political history in the eighteenth century.
