Quyen Hoang has more than ten years of experience in museum and gallery settings. She has a strong background in collections management, intellectual property, research and curatorial projects, including web content development. She is currently an Art Curator at the Glenbow Museum. Her curatorial practice has emphasized artist and community collaboration and involvement in the curatorial process, as evidenced by such exhibitions as Foreign and Familiar: Reconsidering the Everyday, which examined the visions of five, first generation Asian-Canadian artists, Honouring Tradition: Reframing Native Art, an exhibition that explores the complexity of Aboriginal art and Tracing History: Presenting the Unpresentable which invited four artists to explore Glenbow’s collections and create new works based on their own interests and connections. She has a Masters’ Degree in Art History from Concordia University, Montreal where she focused on issues of representation.
