Joke Beyl works as a researcher at the social scientific research centre SMIT (Studies on Media, Information & Telecommunication) in Brussels. After having obtained a Master degree in Communication Sciences (2005) as well as in Cultural Sciences (2006) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel she worked as a trainee in the Fabre Museum in Montpellier (France) for several months both at the communication department and the exhibition department. This allowed her to get closely in touch with the field she studies today. In April 2007 she joined the e-culture section of SMIT. In this context she is involved in investigating the present and future of culture and communication in a networked society. Her main research interests are understanding the views and opinions of cultural and heritage experts on e-culture as well as investigating different ways of presenting digital culture and digital heritage to the visitor/user.

Joke will present Online heritage presentation in Flanders. [Paper]
