Elaine Tolmatch is Grants Co-ordinator for Government and Foundation Giving at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, where she has worked in many capacities, including Registrar, Head of Collections Management and Co-ordinator of Planned Giving. She is the author of a broad range of articles spanning cataloguing, deaccessioning, collections management, bequests, philanthropists and artists. More recently, she has focused her attention on the funding of major exhibitions held at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. She has also shared her expertise with museum professionals, students and visitors through her public lectures and presentations. Ms. Tolmatch earned a diploma from the Museum Management Institute at the University of California at Berkeley and from the Banff Centre for Management. She holds an M.A. in Art History from the Université de Montréal, where she wrote her thesis on Arthur Lismer’s aesthetic of landscape.
