Scott Shunk is the Program Director of Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Visualizing Cultures (http://visualizingcultures.mit.edu) and has been with the project since it’s founding in 2002. Managing the functional nexus of content, curriculum, technology and outreach for the project he brings nearly two decades of production, creative and strategic experience in the field of interactive media, content and technology design. Visualizing Cultures has received numerous awards and has been recognized for excellence by the National Endowment for the Humanities in 2005 and received MIT’s Class of 1960 Innovation in Education award in 2004. Prior to MIT he was Senior Producer and Principal at the award-winning interactive media and technology firm Botticelli Interactive where he produced numerous projects for Fortune 500 businesses including AT&T, Motorola and Oracle. He developed innovative educational media products for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Science Foundation. He has led teams in emerging media projects including interactive television, kiosk design and online development to create innovative, cutting-edge content and technology. Shunk began his career in film scoring and music composition and holds a BS in Management (Summa) from Boston University.
