With 25 years work in the heritage library domain, Bruce manages the 140 year old Library at Auckland War Memorial Museum along with three information centres located in the Museum’s galleries. He successfully obtained funding in 2006/7 for a major project to create digital records for almost all WW1 soldiers based on a published source, and to develop points of access which are of benefit to schools and communities to access details about servicemen and women associated with those localities. A fascinated but cautious adopter of new technologies (owned a computer for 23 years but still learning about RSS, blogs etc), Bruce leads the Museum to consider alternative ways of making our collection data more accessible.

Bruce will demonstrate Electronic remembrance: from roll of honour interactive to biographical base for national online collaboration. [Demonstration]
