During your tour of the Eiteljorg Museum, Purdue professor Daniel Aliaga will demonstrate a virtual restoration process using 3-D imaging. The semi-automatic process, being developed with partners from the Eiteljorg Museum and the Indianapolis Museum of Art, involves inferring a visual appearance of a restored version of the object and then using digital projectors to give the compelling illusion of the physical object being restored to an as new condition. Discussion about the options for future directions of the project will follow the demonstration.

Eiteljorg Museum marketing, education and information technology staff will also present an overview of the Eiteljorg’s Web site including the museum’s newly launched online store, use of multi-media, the Eiteljorg Fellowship for Native American Art, and the education department’s soon-to-be-launched Web site presence incorporating the PRIME initiative, a multicultural education project to make the work of our many artists-in-residence available for ongoing learning.
