Nikki Timmermans works with and on innovative concepts of digital content and services for ‘Images for the Future’. Her approach involves gathering feedback from audiences to create services that are of actual value to the public.

Prior experience with audience research for public broadcasters has prepared her solidly for her current activities: media guru dr. Irene Costera Meijer taught her tricks of the trade.

Nikki is analytically and visually tuned, which probably drove her to a combined degree in Philosophy and Film and Television Science at the University of Amsterdam. She’s at her best when a discussion fosters new insights. Creating a positive atmosphere is crucial. Nikki also likes to work with in-depth interviews and moodboards.

During her academic time in Berlin she learnt the ins and outs of ‘grundliche arbeit’, something that still benefits her daily and which is shown most prominently on the hockey pitch, where she teaches the attacking opposition how to get ausgeputscht. Nikki regularly brings home open knees and bruises. She also commits to spiritual maintenance, by losing herself in philosophical works, soaps and reality.

Nikki will present Images for the Future: digitisation for access. [Mini-Workshop]
