Lieke Heijmans works at Knowledgeland as a Junior Advisor for ‘Images for the Future’ and Creative Commons. She specializes in topics concerning open content such as copyrights and business models. Lieke Heijmans grew up in Kerkrade. ‘Der Kus’ of Gustav Klimt charmed her at the age of 17 and started her passion for art. She took the foundation course in Cultural Studies at the University of Maastricht. In search for more adventure, she moved to Rotterdam where she studied Arts and Culture Studies at the Erasmus University. During her student internship at ING Art Management she was introduced to the beauty of Dutch contemporary figurative art. Besides art she studied media during her bachelor study. This stimulated her enthusiasm for media. In 2005 she started the master programme Media and Journalism. For her final research she studied the use of television by older people suffering from dementia. After her master study, she started working at Springer where she was introduced to business development and wiki’s. In 2007 she started working at the Rotterdam Art Centre, where she advised companies on art collections. She worked together with the Dutch Photo museum, coordinated the digitisation project of the art collection and set up a product line for art business gifts for a big Rotterdam finance company.

Lieke will present Images for the Future: digitisation for access. [Mini-Workshop]
