Maria Daniels

Maria Daniels is Visual Collections Curator for the Perseus Project, an evolving digital library on ancient Greece and Rome based at Tufts University. Perseus includes the works of over 30 Greek authors, an art catalog of 2,300 ancient objects, and 25,000 photographs among its resources. The Web site receives around 30,000 hits a day from visitors from Andorra to Venezuela. Maria has created on-line exhibits, including QuickTime movies and QTVR movies, for the Perseus Project Web site. She oversaw the creation of a special Web exhibit on the ancient Olympic games, which is noteworthy for having integrated museum objects from a range of collections with primary and secondary source texts on aspects of ancient Greek athletics and life. An avid archaeological photographer, Maria has worked on excavations in Greece and Turkey.
