Brenda Matthis, Ed.M., is a doctoral candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and has been a software designer for 18 years. Her research focuses on the authorship of software and Web sites, and its impact on the social construction and cognitive development of those who use these media for learning. She is developing a new publication, The Matthis Report, which presents exemplars in software programs and Web sites based on robust criteria including gender and ethnic representation, and cultural assumptions of logic. She lives in Cambridge Massachusetts.
