Markus Schranz

Markus Schranz studied Information Science at the Technical University of Vienna, Austria. He started in October 1988 and graduated with a Masters degree at March 1994. His diploma thesis discussed Fragmentation and Replication in Distributed Database Systems. He gained software development experience during various summer contracts at industrial companies and practical work at the department of distributed systems. Since May 1994, Markus Schranz is employed as research assistant at the Technical University of Vienna. He takes part in educating students in a course on distributed systems (lecture+lab) every summer semester and teaches courses on C++. His research interests are focused on the Internet, the World Wide Web, the Web Service Engineering Process and State-of-the-Art Technologies for the WWW. Markus Schranz is Ph.D. candidate of Prof. Mehdi Jazayeri, head of the department of distributed systems.
