Fabio Paterno received Laurea Degree in Computer Science from University of Pisa (Italy) and Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of York (UK). Since 1986 he has been researcher at CNUCE-C.N.R., Pisa, where he is head of the HCI group. He has worked in various national and international projects on user interfaces-related topics. He is the coordinator of the MEFISTO Long Term Esprit European Project. He is leading a group working on Effective and adaptive user interfaces for different types of use of museum systems in the Italian C.N.R. project on Safeguard of Cultural Heritage. His current research interests include Methods and Tools for User Interface Design and Usability Evaluation and their applications to various areas such as museum applications. He has published more than sixty papers in refereed international conferences or journals on HCI-related aspects.
