Lawrence Monda is a graduate of Economics from Agra University, India, and holds a Diploma in Computer Programming and a Certificate in Advanced Internet and Web Design from Kenyatta University's 'African Virtual

University' - a World bank-funded project.

Since joining the National Museums of Kenya (NMK) in Nairobi in 1996 as a Programmer/Systems Analyst in the Computer Services Department, he has been actively involved in systems analysis, hardware repair and maintenance, staff and student training. He has also played an instrumental role in the maintenance of the museum's Personnel Information System, and installation and maintenance of electronic on-line banking system.

He was one of the three museum staff members who initiated and developed the NMK web site, and is one of the three designers involved in its daily maintenance and development. Since joining the NMK's Internet/Multimedia Working Group, he has been engaged in multimedia work for various museum projects, and has been developing his skills in overall web design, including image editing and java script.
