Deborah Schwartz is the Vice Director for Education and Program Development at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, where she has worked for the past 15 years. At the BMA, Ms. Schwartz oversees the museum's school, youth and family programs; public programs; and visitor services. She is an adjunct faculty member at Columbia Teachers' College; and has also taught at Bank Street College of Education. She serves on advisory boards including the New York City Museum School, the New Press, the American Federation of the Arts, and Bank Street College. From 1993 to 1996 Ms. Schwartz was the President of the Gallery Association of New York State. In 1991 she was the Co-chair of the Museum Education Consortium, a national organization devoted to the research and design of new technologies in art museums. Deborah earned her BA from Northwestern University.
