Carrie A. Lowe is the Project Representative to the Gateway to Educational Materials (GEM) project, a special project of the Department of Education's National Library of Education and the ERIC Clearinghouse on Information & Technology. Carrie presents frequently to a variety of audiences on the topics of information literacy, information problem-solving, and educational technology. Carrie is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Education. While earning her degree, she focused her hands-on and research efforts on understanding and meeting the needs of at-risk youth. Carrie earned her MLS at Syracuse University's School of Information Studies in 1998. Carrie is a co-author of the upcoming monograph Information Literacy: Essential Skills for the Information Age and is a Column Editor for the bi-monthly publication The Big6 Newsletter: Teaching Technology & Information Skills.
