Dr. John J. Leggett is a Professor of Computer Science at Texas A&M University and Director of the Center for the Study of Digital Libraries. His research interests include digital libraries, computer-supported collaboration, human-computer interaction, multimedia and hypermedia systems, and distance education. He has published extensively in a variety of journals including ACM Transactions on Information Systems, International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, and Communications of the ACM. Dr. Leggett has presented numerous invited talks internationally and has been the invited keynote speaker for several conferences including the 9th ACM Conference on Hypertext and Hypermedia (Hypertext 98), in Pittsburgh, PA; the Third Regional Congress on Health Sciences Information in Brazil (1996); the 1996 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Annual Conference in Washington, DC; and the International Symposium on Human Media Technology in Tokyo, Japan (1995). He is Editor for the BCS Journal of Digital Information, Associate Editor of Transactions on Information Systems and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Network and Computer Applications, Hypermedia and the Journal of Educational Multimedia and Hypermedia.
