Demonstration: Demo Track 2: New Forms of Interaction
MUSE, a user-centered multimedia fruition system for archaeogical sites and museums, is based on hand-held tablets wireless connected to servers, cameras and large, high performance graphics displays. The demo shows how multiple functions may be integrated to provide a comprehensive tool to augment the fascinating experience of the visit. In this early prototype, functions demonstrated on the tablet include navigation in physical and virtual space, interaction with distributed high performance screens, picture capture for personalized memories and instant access to news provided by the site management. The project is currently under development at Boconsult, a Bologna based SME in cooperation with the University of Bologna, Cineca, and Sinet. It is funded by Murst, the Italian Ministery for University Science and Technology within the framework of the National Research Program "Parnaso".
