Mark Apperley is professor and chairperson of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand. He has been actively involved in human-computer interaction research for the past thirty years. His current research interests include information visualisation and presentation, computer-supported collaboration, digital libraries and graphical design notations. He has had a significant involvement in the NZDL project, and is one of the chief instigators of the Niupepa collection.
