Prof. Koch is member of the Technical University in Graz, Austria;

He is a shareholder of the Research Company AIT -Applied Information Technique Ltd. He is involved in several EU-funded projects in the Field of Digital Heritage: COVAX http://www.covax.org , REGNET http://www.regnet.org/pub ; He is actually a consultant and advisor in different EU-funded projects: SCHEMAS (correspondent), PULMAN (virtual advisory board, DIGICULT-Study (Steering Committee).

As president of CSC-Cultural Service Centre Austria, he is responsible for the Austrian National node of the CULTIVATE-Network http://www.cultivate.at ; in this function he is also involved in the EU-funded project OpenHeritage htpp://www.cscaustria.at/projects/oh00.htm

Past involvements cover participations in several European (telematics Applications, TEN-Telecom, Raphael) and international projects (CIMI-Z39.50 Testbed, CIMI-Dublin Core)

Prof. Koch is member of several scientific committees (Eg: Austrian UNESCO-Commission, Austrian Society for Documentation, Austrian Association for Librarians, ICOM-International Council of Museums).
