Godfrey Rust

Godfrey Rust has 20 years experiences in the management of content and rights data, predominantly in the music industry but latterly in cross-sector developments. Formerly responsible for the UK record charts and the data services of the UK's music copyright societies, he has played a leading role in a number of major initiatives including the development of the UK National Discography, the International Standard Work Code (ISWC) and the CIS (Common Information System) Plan of the international community of copyright societies. He is now director of his own independent consultancy Data Definitions, and Technical Co-ordinator of the recently launched and widely-supported (Interoperability of Data in E-Commerce Systems) project for the standardisation of metadata relating to intellectual property.
