AustralianPrints.gov.au focusses on Prints & Printmaking In Australia & The Australasian Region. It makes accessible images & information about Prints and Printmaking, Posters, and Book Arts including Artists Books & Illustrated Books.

It involves printed works from Australia, Aboriginal Australia, the Torres Strait Islands, Papua New Guinea, Maori and Pakeha Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific region including Nuie, Samoa, Kiribati, and the Solomon Islands.

It provides free online access to 16,000 images, enabling searches by artist, subject or print techniques such as etching, woodcut, wood-engraving, linocut, lithograph, screenprint, monotype and other print processes.

Included is an index to online information on printmakers, print workshops, print publishers, print galleries and public and private collections. AustralianPrints.gov.au is an access initiative of the Gordon Darling Australasian Print Fund.

This is a project initiated and managed by Roger Butler, Senior Curator of Australian Prints and Drawings at the National Gallery of Australia.
