Keene currently jointly co-ordinates the Masters course in Museum Studies at UCL, as well as independent consultancy. Prior to that she headed collections management in the Science Museum and conservation in the Museum of London.She instigates highly successful and innovatory techniques and management methods. Keene lectures and publishes widely. Authorship includes two popular books, Managing Conservation in Museums, and Digital Collections: Museums and the Information Age. Main research interests are the usefulness of large scale collections, and the new field of the effects of information and communications technology on cultural organisations.She is a trustee and company director for The Tank Museum and a member of the board of the London Museums Agency.
