My involvement with ARKive began whilst working at Hewlett Packard Labs., Bristol. This led to an interest in the Semantic Web and the other local groups involved in its development. Paul Shabajee (Bristol university) and I have published a number of papers on ARKive, with a particular emphasis on its involvement with education.
