John Perkins operates Mus*Info, an international consulting company specializing in information and technology management for museums, archives, and cultural heritage organizations. He has worked for numerous prestigious organizations - The Getty, The Smithsonian, The Victoria & Albert Museum, The CIMI Consortium, the National Gallery of Canada, the Australian Department of Communication and the Arts (DCA). He is Executive Director of the Consortium for the Computer Interchange of Museum Information (CIMI). This is a group of 25 of the world's most prestigious museums and museum organizations and national museum networks. He has extensive international collaborative project experience and teaches workshops in strategic and operational planning for museum information management. Previously he was Director of Client Operations for a software firm dedicated to museum collections information management systems, and prior to that directed the international, Conservation Information Network, with 450 subscribers in 23 countries for the Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) in Los Angeles, California.
