Elisa Giaccardi Giaccardi has a PhD in Interactive Arts, awarded by CAiiA-STAR, University of Plymouth, UK. She has been a research fellow in Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Humanities and Philosophy of the University of Turin in Italy since 1998 to 2000, and Head of New Media at Fondazione Fitzcarraldo, an independent center for research, training and documentation in cultural management and policy making, since 1999 to 2003. She is currently a Research Associate at the LifeLong Learning and Design Centre (L3D) of the Department of Computer Science, University of Boulder Colorado, USA. Her research in communication technologies was awarded in 2001 with the European grant “Ideas for the Future”, by reason of her highly interdisciplinary work. She has lectured on and published on several occasions, both in Italy and abroad. She is a panelist of Leonardo Digital Reviews (MIT Press).
