Katherine M. Wisser is the NC ECHO Metadata Coordinator at Duke University. She has a Masters Degree in American History from the University of New Hampshire, a Masters in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a doctoral student in information science at UNC-CH. She has worked for the past 7 years in Special Collections departments in New Hampshire and North Carolina, including a position as North Carolina State University Libraries Fellow from 2001 – 2003. Her special interests include metadata, collaboration and digital projects for cultural institutions. As metadata coordinator she facilitates the resolution of metadata problems for NC ECHO partner institutions. In addition, she teaches workshops on metadata and Encoded Archival Description for NC ECHO and at the UNC-CH School of Information and Library Science. Her doctoral work focuses on classification theory, and she has taught the introductory Cataloging course and will be teaching the History of Libraries in the Fall.

Katherine will present Museum metadata in a consortial environment.
