Kenneth Newby, BA, MFA (Simon Fraser University), is an Assistant Professor in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University. His research interests focus on the development of interactive and generative techniques for the composition, sonification, visualization, and spatialization of multimodal displays and installations, as well as theorizing the role of encoded practices in new media. Kenneth has worked as a professional in the new media industry acting as an interactivity consultant for Pixar Animation Studios, and an interactive audio software engineer at Electronic Arts. His creative output includes works for responsive kinetic materials, sound sculpture, interactive audiovisual performance works, and compact disc editions of music and spoken word. Kenneth has received a number of arts awards and commissions from the Canada Council for the Arts in support of conference presentations, creation of music for dance, interactive music sculpture, and composition for spoken word.

Kenneth will present Interactive Audio Content: An Approach to Audio Content for a Dynamic Museum Experience through Augmented Audio Reality and Adaptive Information Retrieval.
