Deborah F. Schwartz is Deputy Director for Education at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. For the past 18 years she has developed innovative museum programs, written materials, and multimedia productions about art and artifacts for adults and children. In 2003 she curated the exhibition, Art Inside Out at the Children's Museum of Manhattan. Deborah is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University Teacher.s College. She serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Arts Exchange, and on the Education Committee of the Jewish Museum. From 1983 to 2000, Ms. Schwartz worked at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, first as an educator on the Department of Public Programs, and then as the Vice Director for Education and Program Development. She was one of the original developers of the Brooklyn Expedition Web site for children, which was a joint project pf the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library and the Brooklyn Children's Museum. In 1997, Ms. Schwartz coauthored The Native American Look Book (The New Press.) Prior to her tenure at the BMA, she worked for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Institute of Fine Arts at NYU, and the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission.
