AKQA
http://akqadc.com

Founded in 1990, AKQA has offices in Washington DC, San Francisco, London, and Singapore. Each offers design, content development, technology, and rich-media services. AKQA puts users, not technology, at the heart of the creative process. Whether we're crafting a web site or a handheld application, we work to understand the audience and engage them in a rich experience. Our user-centric approach parallels museums' shift from being "about something" to being "for somebody."

AKQA's close-knit DC team collaborated with Smithsonian to craft http://SmithsonianEducation.org, a gateway to museum resources for educators, students, and families. AKQA also partnered with Smithsonian to craft "Walking on the Moon," an interactive learning lab recounting the perils of the Apollo 11 mission. Our Smithsonian work has earned a World Medal at the New York Festivals and Silver at the Omni Intermedia Awards.

AKQA's other clients include Nike, PBS, Discovery Networks, America Online, and the U.S. Department of Education.
