Nicole Bearman has been communicating design, art and architecture to Australian audiences for 12 years. Currently she is an editor and writer based in the marketing & media department at the Powerhouse Museum, where she develops print and electronic communications for key museum programs such as Sydney Design (sydneydesign.com.au), d factory, Free Radicals and Design Quarter. Nicole is a graduate of Sydney College of the Arts where she majored in Jewellery and Object design, and holds a postgraduate degree in Museum Studies from the University of Sydney. Prior to the Powerhouse Museum, she managed publications for the 2004 Biennale of Sydney, was Editor of SDQ, Assistant Editor of Indesign, Editor of Australian Art Collector, and Managing Editor of Object. She has also contributed to numerous other magazines over the years including Monument, Inside (Australian design review), POL Oxygen, Vive, more space and Australian Style, and often participates in the design sector on judging and advisory panels.
